At 0716Hrs on October 22, 2012 Yorktown Fire with 1 Engine From Millwood, and Ossining F.A.S.T. were dispatched to 340 Illington RD. for a reported Structure Fire. While in route units were advised of multiple calls and 2531 requested the full 1st alarm assignment as well as the 2nd alarm tanker task force. Units Arrived to find a 40x80 Wood frame private dwelling with heavy fire on the 2nd floor and in the attic. Engine 273 arrived and stretched a line to begin knocking down fire on the "C" side of the building. 2nd arriving Engine 272 laid a 5-inch supply line up the driveway and gave Engine 273 its tank. Members from Engine 272 stretched a 1 3/4 inch handline to the 2nd floor and began knocking down fire on the 2nd floor and Attic, the crew from Engine 273 and Ladder 51 performed horizontal and vertical ventilation of the fire building, Engine 272's crew was forced to back out due to a loss of water and deteriorating fire conditions. During this initial attack Engines 270, 271 and Tanker 14 along with all mutual aid tankers were in the process of setting up water supply for firefighting operations. Ossining F.A.S.T. and Millwood Engine 247 arrived to assist with firefighting operations following the establishment of a sustained water supply. Crews resumed an interior attack with multiple hand lines and hooks and knocked down the fire.
