Around 04:30 on Friday April 19th, Yorktown's bravest were alerted to Evergreen Street for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival 2531 confirmed a 10-75 for fire through the roof and out the rear of the structure. Ladder 51 and Engine 273 arrived on scene and members initiated an aggressive interior attack but were forced to exit the structure due to deteriorating conditions. Ladder 51's master stream was put into operation to knock down a majority of the fire before units resumed an interior operation to extinguish the remaining hot spots. Bedford Hills Tower Ladder 57 arrived on scene as the FAST unit and was later put to work to assist with overhaul of the structure. All units cleared the scene at approximately 09:00.
