At 1408 hours, Yorktown Volunteers along with Bedford Hills' FASTeam were alerted to a possible structure fire with YPD on location stating flames were through the roof. Car 2532 arrived on location, gave an initial size up and transmitted a 10-75, working fire assignment. Engine company 273 arrived on location and stretched the initial handline to the attic to contain the fire. Engine 272 arrived, established a water source and stretched a backup line to the 2nd floor. Ladder 51's crew performed primary search functions. Crews had the fire contained and extinguished in about 10 minutes. Bedford Hills FASTeam arrived on location and stood by as Yorktown units operated and brought the fire under control. They were then put to work assisting Yorktown crews overhauling and extinguishing any hot spots that were left. During the fire, an engine from Somers and a Ladder from Mohegan stood by at Station 1 in the event of an additional alarm in district. |
