This past Saturday, the YHFD participated in the Yorktown FamJam which is a family oriented community event aimed at raising money for various community organizations.
Yorktown Heights Volunteer Firefighters were on hand with our Utility 253 (UTV), and some fire prevention supplies for children and adults alike.
We also played our “arch rivals” from the Yorktown Police Department in the 2nd annual PD vs FD 3 v 3 basketball showdown with this years trophy named in honor of the late Town Supervisor Tom Diana whom was also a police officer prior to entering into politics. It was only fitting that our high flying Brothers in Blue from YPD slam dunked their way (literally) to a second victory on the court against the YHFD. We may suggest a nice game of softball, floor hockey or perhaps an exciting pickleball match next time to even the score.
