On Saturday, March 15th at 00:02hrs. Yorktown Heights Fire was requested with our Firefighter Assist & Search Team (F.A.S.Team) to the scene of a building fire on Depew St in the City of Peekskill.
Rescue 16 responded on the assignment and while en-route the Peekskill IC transmitted the 2nd alarm. Upon arrival, the crew of Rescue 16 maintained FAST responsibilities until the arrival of the 2nd Alarm FAST from the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department.
Once relieved of FAST duties, Yorktown Heights Volunteer Firefighters operated on the 2nd and 3rd floors opening up, extinguishing any remaining pockets of fire and performing overhaul. YHFD Volunteers with Rescue 16 cleared the fire scene around 02:30hrs.
