Yorktown Heights Volunteer Firefighter’s have already operated at multiple incidents in district throughout the day while preparing for tonight’s annual Yorktown Heights Engine Co. No. 1 Fireman’s Parade & Carnival. At 09:06hrs this morning, YHFD Volunteers responded to Underhill Ave & Taconic State Parkway Exit ramp for the Auto Fire. 1 line stretched. Fire extinguished without incident. At 09:35hrs as YHFD units were clearing the auto fire, YHFD units were notified verbally of a vehicle into the woods with injuries at the 1100blk of Underhill Ave. YHFD Volunteers located a box truck off the roadway and two patients. One of which had been struck by their own vehicle. Vehicle was secured. Two patients transported to an area trauma center for treatment. A few moments later… at 13:04hrs. Yorktown Heights Fire was dispatched to the intersection of Crow Hill Rd & Lake Rd for the MVA w/entrapment. YHFD units arrive to find 3 total patients, with 2 pts trapped in 2 separate vehicles. Both vehicles were secured and both patients were quickly extricated and transferred to EMS for transport to an area trauma center. The Annual Yorktown Heights Engine Co.
